Big News (Maybe?)
If you've been following our story, you know it’s been a winding road trying to turn our dream into something real. Back in the spring, we shared an update about a moment at The Snug—overhearing folks talk about how Irvington could really use more cozy, community-centered spaces with food, drinks, and music. That chance moment gave us a boost of energy just when we needed it. But even then, things were still slow-moving.
We were deep in the property hunt, touring spaces, dreaming big, then backing away when things didn’t feel quite right. It turns out, finding a location that checks all the boxes—especially one with green space and a welcoming footprint—has been more challenging than we expected. Add in our full-time jobs, a family to raise, and a historic neighborhood with zoning layers to navigate... well, let’s just say, it takes time.
But now, for the first time in a long while, we might be close.
We’re in early conversations about a location right in the heart of Irvington. It's walkable, bikeable, and filled with potential—but it's far from a done deal. The space is currently a residential property that would need to be converted for commercial use, which means a lot of steps, approvals, and things that could still go sideways. We're in the thick of figuring out what’s possible, and working closely with the owner and local officials to see if it can be the home for our shop.
If it works out, we’ll still be able to build out the heart of our concept: a warm, inviting space to connect, sip tea, and enjoy live music. While we’ve had to temporarily let go of the greenhouse and garden (Irvington lots don’t give you much wiggle room), we’re staying focused on what matters most—creating something meaningful for our neighborhood.
So that’s where we are: cautiously optimistic, moving forward, and preparing for a possible capital-raising phase in the next few months if everything aligns.
Thanks for sticking with us through the quiet stretches. We’ve never stopped believing in this dream, and the encouragement from this community continues to mean everything.
More updates soon—hopefully with good news.
